ABOUT OUR PRINCIPALS
Big Bang Fundraising has conducted successful fundraising programs and home raffles for the last eight years. The principals in the company bring a vast amount of experience in marketing and in working with non-profits all over the country.
Glenn Bourgeois – Principal/CEO
Mr. Bourgeois is a founder of Big Bang Fundraising and also serves as CEO of Big Bang, an integrated marketing communications company. He has been active in serving on Boards and involved in fundraising efforts on both coasts.
In 2000, Mr. Bourgeois founded Knowledge Management Group, a software development company focusing on niche ASP products. From 1994 to 2000 Mr. Bourgeois was involved in several start-ups including College Club, an on-line community portal for college students; Senior World, an on and off-line publishing company targeting people 50 and older and was the originating founder of SourceFinder, an on-line source-direct buying company for marketing products and services. For the prior ten years, Mr. Bourgeois held positions with BBDO Worldwide. He was General Manager for all of BBDO’s Latin American operations. He also served as President of BBDO’s Eastern European network and Managing Director of BBDO Brazil. In addition to his management responsibilities he was worldwide director for Pepsi-Cola International, Frito-Lay International and Pizza Hut. Mr. Bourgeois also spent two years with Beatrice Foods in marketing and promotions and six years with Miller brewing Company in brand management and sports marketing positions. He lives in La Jolla California with his three children. He is active in fundraising for local youth activities and serves as the head of the La Jolla Lacrosse Foundation.
Mark Drozda – Principal
Mr. Drozda is a principal at Big Bang Fundraising and is the Director of Strategic Planning at Big Bang. He also serves as the key account management representative in working with clients.
Mark brings more than 20 years’ experience in strategic marketing development and program management for national and international brands. Mr. Drozda has served for 10 years as Principal and Managing Director of Big Bang Idea Engineering, a nationally-acclaimed branding agency with offices in San Diego and Seattle. Drozda has also served in senior account management positions at leading Southern California advertising agencies. He serves on the Board of Management of the La Jolla YMCA and the Board of Directors of the San Diego Advertising Club and the San Diego Advertising Fund for Emergencies. Mark is a graduate of the Journalism School at the University of Missouri – Columbia.
Bill Steel – Principal/Counsel
Bill Steel is a founding principal of Big Bang Fundraising, and is a founding partner of the Orange County law firm of Samuels, Green, Steel & Adams, LLP. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree (cum laude) in 1979 in Political Science from the University of California at Los Angeles, and his Juris Doctor Degree in 1982 from the University of Southern California.
Bill’s law practice is in real estate, business, and corporate transactions. He serves as general counsel for many corporations and businesses. Representative clients include many large, publicly held companies, large developers of residential communities, owners of commercial and apartment properties, owners of restaurant and retail chains, manufacturing businesses, and real estate and mortgage brokers. Bill has also represented several nonprofit organizations as their home raffle counsel. Bill has served for over twenty years on the Board of Directors of the Ocean Institute in Dana Point, which is a marine science and maritime history field trip destination for over 110,000 school children annually, and he is currently its Board Chairman. Mr. Steel has also served for over ten years on SchoolPower, the charitable foundation that raises money for Laguna Beach’s public school district, and is its past President and perennial Chairman of its annual fund raising campaign.Lisa is Vice President of Program Development for Big Bang Fundraising, helping to create and implement program components and liaison with our nonprofit partners.
Lisa Stewart-Business Development
Lisa owned and operated an incentive marketing and special events corporation for 20 years, working nationally and globally with many Fortune 500 companies, including Seven Up, Ford Motor Company, Miller Brewing Company, Washington Mutual and Fox Broadcasting. In this capacity she developed incentive programs from initial sales, marketing, promotion, and trip organization to escorting sales incentive winners. Group sizes ranged from 24 to 2000 participants and included destinations in China, the Caribbean, Indonesia and Africa; with special events including the organizing of an evening in Beijing, China’s Great Hall of the People, chartered yachts, sailing regattas and exclusive use of private European chateaux .
National special event highlights included events for 50 -1500 participants to venues such as the Kentucky Derby, Indianapolis 500 and Super Bowl games. Most recently, she has been involved in the home building and real estate community, developing marketing programs, brochures and sales tools. Prior to 2001, Lisa was involved in a recruiting capacity with an international airline.
Charitable interests include equine therapeutic riding programs, sponsoring a service dog and animal rescue.She is a graduate of the University of Missouri – School of Journalism and resides in San Diego and Colorado.
